Smoke underwater

Hello readers! :D

Being underwater was always fascinating to me.
I love the light, the dull sound, the feeling of being surrounded by water and the comfort of floating in it.
And on the other hand you have this dull pressure, the knowing that you cannot fucking breathe and that you in fact don't have save ground under your feet to stand on. Not to mention all the known and unknown dangers that water holds. Which is why I never seriously considered to get a diver's license. The ocean is fucking terrifying!

Back to drawing!
This one started with a small scribble in my sketchbook, and I first wanted to draw the thing again on bigger, better paper and work from there. But I shortly after just scanned the sketch and worked from there. I'm still not over how amazing my new cintiq pen is. It's so amazing, really!

I really like the image of underwater stuff, but for some reason I hardly ever draw it? Maybe I should think of a mermaid story or something similar...

For comparison, this is the original sketch:

The biggest problem I had with inking (no matter if digital or analog techniques) is that I always had the feeling that so much of the dynamic of the original sketch gets lost when I do it, and it was so frustrating to see how amazing other people draw all kinds of dynamic stuff with ink. But I think I'm coming closer to the look I want to achieve every time I draw now, and that really really makes me happy :)

What do you folks think?

See you soon! ;)

"The faceless girl" - Part 1

Hello everyone! :D

No, this is not about horror monsters, sorry ;) It's more a little experiment; if you draw humans, the focus is nearly always on the face. Which is pretty logical, because it's where most of the communication is sourced from. as a result, most artists start with the head and face and build the whole picture around it, using the head as scale.
And while I'm not going that far to leave the head out completely, lets see how good you can transport a personality without seeing the face of the person!

These are the first three, and they will come in color, too. Two are allready finished, you'll see all three next week! ;)
As so often I used pencil and mechanical pencil on common drawing board; and I tried to capture some more unusual light or surface situations, like hard sunlight in the first, or the shadow on the water in the last one. It was not as hard as I believed, and I love every single one of them :D
If you have any suggestions of what light/surface compositions I should try, let me know in a comment!  \°o°/

That's it for now, stay tuned and take care.
See you next week in fresh color! :D

It's Wu again

Hello again everyone! :D

Last time was full of stuff again. I went to Berlin to visit some friends, met a friend I only knew online for years the first time in real life and went to the Making Games Talents in Munich. It was all great fun! :D
>>Also, if you read this, dear person I met at the MGTs, I loved your drawings!! Please contact me, bc you were really cool and unfortunately I don't have any contact info of yours, and I'd really love to see more of your comic! :D <<

So, enough of this (who reads this anyway) and more for drawings!

It's Wu again, and I somehow managed to deal with my long time enemy "black ink" - I really really love how the outlines look, and I think I worked out the colors fine, too.

Her hand is what I love especially of this picture. But allover, this is one of my favorite pictures I drew of her 'till now :D
Of course I did a pencil drawing underneath the ink, and traced to a more ink-friendly paper. Have a look at this:

The pencil-version is more rough, and thou' I love the rough look of pencil, this is one of the very few moments I love the ink and color version more than the pencil picture.
What do you think? :D

Take care of yourselves! Eat more vegetables! No really, more and more people are ill here at the moment, so really, take care.

I love you! See you soon! :D

....and I'll kick your face.

...literally! :D

and OH GAWD it's been more than a month since my last post... Argh. Okay. Probably there won't be a lot more the next time either... D: Because my studies are STRESSFUL AS HELL. Like, before christmas, I have to do an interview with a storyboard/concept person, we have to shoot our music video, shoot our documentary, record an audio drama and write an exam and do some paper for another course.

Help me.... :'D

Okay, most of these are group works, so the pressure and work is somehow spread cuz nobody has to work alone. But still, it's a shitload of work...

BUT, always look at the bright side of life, eh? 8D

By the way, our music video will be to the song "Space Invaders" of the band "Pornophonique" :D

But now - the promised kick in the face ;)

pencil and photoshop on copy paper

Oh HELL YEAH. I love drawing kicks and punches and material arts stuff, even if it's difficult and tricky most of the time ;) BUT IT'S FUN! :D And yes, it's Emma again! Unfortunately there are no news around the comic project... There is just no time left for a project that size... it's creeping forwards in snail's pace....yeah...

Same pic, but inverted. Think this is a great effect 8D

And, for those who are interested, the raw one ->

Which one do you like the most? :D And how are your studies/work/schoolworks going?

So, that's it from me, so farewell, see you soon.
Take care! :D

Kiss and sea turtles! :D

Hey guys, KISSING TIME! :D

I still can't draw a kiss showing heads as a whole XD

But I really like the dirty look the pic has. I had some reference, but it was a whole bunch of pics and not one specific one. I think I like drawing on that paper size (A5), and I love landscape format more than portrait format.

Maybe it would be interesting to draw the comic in landscape form...

And now, SEA TURTLES!! :D

In Vienna, there's a big aqua zoo named "Haus des Meeres" (house of the sea), and they have a 300.000 litre aquarium with some sharks and a sea turtle in it. The sharks swam too quickly to do nice photos of them, but the sea turtle was just there on the ground and WAS SO PRETTY AND BIG AND WOW.

Have a look at her prettieness :D

That's a remora on her back. And yes, that turtle is big, I think the sign said 150cm.
That was really cool :D
If you ever plan to go to Vienna and have some time left, go and visit that aqua zoo. They have so much cute fish and that amazing turtle and they have SHARKS, dammit, even if they're too quickly for me to take good photos. Here's their website :D

Thoughts? 8D

The craving for vengeance is born

Hey hello people!

Yesterday my beloved graphic tablet payed the debt of nature. May it rest in peace. Beware! Even wacom tablets will get broken if you soak them in coffee a night long...
That happend some time before. Actually, inbetween it was working fine and I forgot about that accident, but I unscrewed it after it did nothing (or better, nothing normal) anymore, and there is rust and/or oxidation on the active surface, so...
Handle your grapic tablet with care! They can work fine for more than just 4 years. Seriously! >_<

Okay, enough of this. I scribbled with pencils again! :D
Meet this amazing vengeful lady:

...guess pencil will forever be my tool number one... ^^;

Have a nice day! :D

BANG BANG BANGs :D

YISSS
I have 37 Followers. What the hell?!
I LOVE YOU GUYS! :D
Thank you so much! >o<

Back to topic ;D

Lots of bang bang bang here this time :D

Since it's some kind of semi-; pseudo-; wannabe- police-story  I'm woking on, there has to be SHOOTING SCRIBBLE PRACTICE 8D

...and of course with a character that won't even be in there. Enjoy! 8D
Click makes bang bang bigger ^^

All pencil in my sketchbook, with some PS-Specialeffects on it 8D YAY!

By the way, I'm planning to redo the design of this blog, so don't worry if it looks somewhen the next time. It's going to be more.. hat-like, since the description says "The one with that hat" ;) Hope you'll like it 8D

And. I have some freetime now, and I want to practice stuff, but I'm not 100% sure what to do. So what do you think I should definitely practice more? Suggestions*? 8D
It's not just stuff I did the last time, you can dig out stuff from last year and tell me "YEAH I WANT YOU TO DRAW MORE ANIMATION CUZ ITS AWESOME!" or stuff like that. Kay? ^^

Stay tuned! ;D

*Not what you want to see more, but what I should practice more, okay? "MORE BOOBS" is an invalid answer! XD

Still scribbling

...and hey out there! :D

How are you doin?

I'm currently stuck in the last weeks of my first term of design studies, YAY! Next semester will be more specified than this one (we have ten subjects now and will chose 3 of them to work on).

Soo... but of course I'm studying very, very hard right now (yeah, see these as some last words of a soul in despair :'D), there are still only scribbles, but YES, we absolutely love scribbles! That's also why you'll probably have them in the next post, too :'D

Beware, these are really scribbles, not like the sketches from the last post XD

That's how the term felt after the christmas holidays :'D...
-"Come and get me, term, I'm ready for you!"
*term chose tasks. It's super effective! Critical hit!*
- "OUFF!" FUCK

Yep, and this is what I produce when I'm trying to draw in a museum. First I took all my patience and drew some folds of a statue, and then I just wanted to take that lawn chair and hit somebody. Don't worry, I didn't.But that museum is fascinating, and a labyrinth... I don't think I would have found out of there alone :'D
What do you think? How's your life? What are your plans? :D

Have a nice day! :D

January 4, 2013

New year, new post

YE HA!
Long time no see!
Sorry for the break, now I'm back again :D

So first, THANK YOU, my 24 Followers! I hope you keep on enjoying the stuff here and keep on linking my blog wherever you can so that I'll get thousands and thousands of loyal disciples and will be able TO TAKE OVER THE WORLD SOON 8D

... okay, skip the last one. But keep on reading and having fun here ;D

And take some sketches more! 8D

Miss Roswitha today ;D

Many of my friends said they absolutely love this picture and adore her beauty and stuff and like that her face is detailed while the rest is still very sketchy. I think mainly she's too thin, even if this chara is supposed to be that thin... what do you think? :D

A fellow student uses such a little suitcase in classes. I love it! It's so cute and different from all these same looking handbags ;D Don't you think? ^^

So, anything else to say?  Some new years wisdom maybe? 8D
Just one. Don't look back.
Have a nice day ;)

PS: I changed the textcolor to dark blue, cause someone said it would fit the rest of blogcolors better. Please tell me if you like this better, if you want the black back, if you like it or it makes the texts unreadable... anything!

Scribbletime the 2nd, with an UZI

More scribbles!

And new pics this time! :D
Poses still influenced by Bleach, used media pencil on copy paper and fancy photoshop effects overlayed 8D

Have fun!

No idea why she's holding a poorly drawn uzi, at first it should've been a normal gun... but it happend to be an uzi. well....
Favourite part of the pic: Her face :D

And I really like this one. Even if he looks a little bit too young for his real age in this pic...
Fav part of this pic: His plaid shirt :D

There will be colored versions of these two! Outlines are ready, I just have to find some time to get them colored. Uah. Probably some time after christmas.

Have a nice end of the world! :D

December 16, 2012

Scribbletime.

Yep, scribbletime!

Like I said in some post earlier, I'm going to post some sketches and scribbles! 8D
Because I scribble around a lot since my classes began... like.. a LOT... I got a sketchbook at 1st Dec, and it's nearly filled by now. New record for me! 8D And I need a new sketchbook. Again. Damn. ^^°

So, let's begin with some pre-scribbles of pics you allready know! :'D

Both pencil on ordinary copy paper, poses inspired by Bleach ;D

"BOOH! WE WANT NEW PICS, WHY DON'T YOU GIVE US NEW PICS?!?"

Chill out, you'll have new pics.
Next time! 8D

See you around! ;D

PS: Blogspot was showing me an error, that it tried to publish or save this entry but couln't. The weird thing is, I didn't even try to save or publish it till now, and it appeared like 10 times in the last 15 minutes. Wtf is going on? And I had troubles to fit in the pics, because blogger wouldn't react if I klicked on "add picture" several times.... am I the only one? Is that a bug? D:

November 20, 2012

Yes, this is shameless fanservice.

But as we all know, fanservice ain't for guys only ;D

If I mark this as a preview-poster of my comic, would anyone think it's porn??
I ask 'cause apparently there are some strange connections made this time; As an example, I was sitting in the common room, drawing a pic with two guys on it - and while I was drawing, three guys came up to me and asked, whether "they're together, like a couple" or what.
What the f.... I'm still wondering why they made that connection?!  (I mean yes, sometimes I draw gay couples and stuff, but I bareley knew these people and they didn't knew me and these guys on the pic weren't even touching each other (in a way that could have been interpreted as gay... whatever))
Maybe it's "A girl drawing "comics" must mean she's drawing "manga" must mean she's drawing yaoi"? 8D

I'm not even angry or something, I'm just massively confused how they made that connection ;)

Have a nice evening! 8D

October 29, 2012

Very dark problems

Guess what about?

Yes - inking! 8D (no, I'm not writing about autum/winter depression here XD)

So there are several ways to ink something, and all of them look slightly or entirely different. And I'm struggling which way to go down with my comic, so....help? 8D

Manual ink at first. Rough vs. clean lines. Both look cool, both are time consuming; for the rough one it's hard to find a balance between dirty and dynamic, the clean one will tax my patience. 8D

Digital ink. I think I won't go down this route, cause it's time time saving and consuming at the same time. You can correct till it's perfect, but for me it's hard to get a right stroke in the first place, so I'm correcting 90% of the time...

...or I just let ink be ink and go for pencil only. In that case, I need a good scanner ;)

Well, well.

What do you think? 8D

October 8, 2012

"University of applied Sciences" - translated: "FH"

Seriously.

Okay, in fact "University of applied Sciences" means "Fachhochschule", but most people will rather use FH  ([ɛf.haː]) than the longer version. Because people are lazy ;D

So! My courses in Nuremberg will start tomorrow, beginning with photography, and I'm excited how the stuff will be XD (and if I'll have any free time left ;)

Oh yeah, and I somehow made it into a student dorm (or hall of residence, if you prefer british english ;D) after I paniced a long time where I should live that time ^^ Everything went well! Its amazing, I hope it'll stay that way XD

"Stop talking about your life, nobody gives a shit. This is an art blog! WE WANT TO SEE PICTURES!"

Yeah okay, I give you pictures.XD

 How about this?

"BOOH, PENCIL! Give us colored stuff at least!"

Allright:

Happy? ;D

Okay, I'll give you something that moves, too: A little wip! 8D

So, I hope you' re happy now ;)  By the way, don't try that at home. Riding your motorbike in heavy rain WITH NO HELMET ON will probably get you killed. XD Yup that girl isn't what you would call a role model.
So! See you soon, I hope. I actually have no idea how or when I will do the next post - that depends on how much time the university of applied sciences and all the surrounding stuff will eat.

Have a nice day! ;D

September 25, 2012

Sketchessssssss

ssssssssssssss.

Another amazing drawing session with Olivia Odd ! :D

These are 3-5minute Sketches, pencil only. Enjoy! :D

Yeah! :D

September 17, 2012

Ranting and Bubbles.

Hey out there!

I'm currently stuck in some deep hole, cause the one half of the world seems to be a gigantic red tape monster that is hunting me with requests and applications, and the other half is the half that offers rooms and flats on the internet and dosen't react on any request. Seriously. I've written lots of requests on flats and roof offers and I recieved only two reactions back, both with a "sorry the room is allready rent to someone!"

......and time is running out. Help, anyone? Am I doing something wrong? Searching on the wrong places?  :(

Anyway, I'm trying out photoshop brushes at night and slowly but steady I get used to them.
Do you remember this post? :D (If not, click on the damn link!) Instead of working the pic out with the pencil I scanned it and just throw digital color on it.
Result:

I love the bubbles.

Have a nice day!

September 10, 2012

There was something....

....called a blog 8|

Which I neglected carelessly the last time. Sorry for that!
Reason is, I decided to go to Nuremberg (mainly cause I can study film/animation there), and since than I'm trying to find a place to move.
And either I'm too stupid or too blind or too whatever, but I don't really find anything that's affordable... and why do some people only offer contact online, when they don't reply on any Email? Gnah. If anyone has a hot tip for any website or something, right now I'm thankful for any advice ^^°

So.
But inbetween, while panic had some rest periods or just went out to get some coffee, I kept on drawing ;D

Doing a quick pencil sketch:

And doodling with brushes and colors afterwards:

Sandstorm, yay! 8D This is my favourite version, but I like this one as well:

What do you think?

Have a nice day! :D

August 14, 2012

Portfolio, Part One :D

Yup, as promised. Pic-heavy!

First stack is a series of my favourite boots, starting with some sketches:

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOTS!!!! :D

.... because art schools LOVE sketches and rough paintings and stuff. Hell knows why.

And some people might know parts of the finished ones allready cause I made them in ... January or so, and uploaded them somewhere I think :B

Pencil, soft pastels, copics, water colors and of course my new rock boots :D

There might be no post tomorrow cause I'm away all day, but on Thursday I'll be back.
Have a nice, warm summerday! XD

August 9, 2012

Pale lady

....because there wasn't enough time for deep black with this picture ;)

Pencil and Copic again.
I think of all the pictures I made that evening I like the pose and the shading of arms and legs on this the most.
And I really want to draw more often with real people!

Have a nice day ;D

August 7, 2012

I promised you more!

And here we are! 8D

This time with pencil, ink and gray ink :D

More tomorrow!! :D

Have a nice day XD
