Shading tryout.

Actually I don't have much to say today. I'm desperatly trying to throw together an usable portfolio so I can go become a trainee somewhere for 6 month... guess I'll tell you more on that topic in a later post, so back to this one. (But if anyone has a hot tip or advice or anything for a design/illustration/2D animation internship, just contact me ;) )

It's just trying out colors and shading. Who cares for backgrounds! (or swords for that matter)

Strage pose is strage although I drew this one with help of a stock photo. Also I think the foot is either enormously stretchable or broken. Ouch.

Freehand Animation!

And I'm sitting in front of my pc all day :'D Because besides the animation project for my film class I also try out animation for myself XD

... and I have only boring stuff to tell you. But wow, 5000 hits on this blog. Thank you guys! :D

Ya well... I don't really have some. No really. I have stuff to do. Studying, working... that kind of stuff, you know?

"We thought you're studying DESIGN! AINT THAT WITH PICTURES!"

Not .... yet???? Actually it's amazing how little we've done 'til now. The only subject which hits in with the power of a jumbo jet is Film/Animation, where we have to script, shoot and produce a commercial till the end of term. I mean, WHAT THE FUCK. THIS IS AMAZING.
Aaaand seems like a shitload of stress. YAY! Let's hope the rest of the subjects won't take too much space in the date book XD

But! Months ago I told you about that comic project I'm working on. I didn't forget that thing!

This is the status:

First rough storyboard of part one COMPLETE! 8D 'round 80 pages (4 pages per one sheet of paper), part 2 is on work and part 3 is written down and waiting.

 Okay, before you start to shitstorm me with "YOU STOLE THAT FROM ELEMENTARY!!!111ONE", that's not her real name. And I didn't watch the series (yet). ;)

So! The only thing I have to do now is work over these pages again, complete the other 2 parts, work over them again, draw them, ink them, scan them, correct them, letter them...... I have to go, I have a film project to do. Bye!! :D

Drowning in stuff but finished examinations

Hey out there!

Long time no post, but there was so much stuff going on.

First, the last qualification test wich was for the school in Nuremberg - jeez, they have heavy requierements. Comparing to Krefeld, where you were supposed to bring a portfolio with ~20 works in it and present the stuff, it was really huge - first the portfolio test (I passed in June) in which they asked for 30-40 works, and now the test itself.
It was split on two days, on the first there was a typography test and a storyboard test to do,  and on the second day they had special tests for the three study paths (Illustration, Film&Animation, Photography), where I choosed illustration. We had 3 hours for each task and it was enough time, but in the end of the day you were just .... dead because of the hours of concentration you were invested in ;)
(Btw I hope I'm not writing total bullshit here, I don't feel very well at the moment. And am kind of tried...)
Anyway, I was housed at my friend Lisa and her amazing family again. Thanks for that, you are so cute, I love you guys! :D

By the way, next time I'm gonna upload the whole stuff of the portfolio(s), might put that in miniseries, but I need either better light to take photos or a bigger scanner. We'll see! Will work at any point. Yay!

Last but not least, have a drowning person again.

...which is, that I made it.
......some of you might allready know, but.....
My portfolio passed the test in Krefeld! 
YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYY!!!
That means I can start there in October 8D And I got a letter from Nuremberg, that I passed the portfolio test there, too, and am invited to the qualifying examination next week. Challenge accepted!
Might be hard to choose between Krefeld and Nuremberg when I might pass the test there too XD

I played with a modified standart brush here, and I still like to play around in the great sector of digital painting, but it's kind of unsatisfying... on the one hand, to get to the real hardcore naturalistic stuff, I need much more practice, and on the other hand, that hardcore naturalistic stuff don't interests me that much - cause if you need photorealism, you can go and take a photo, don't you?

I think the sense of a picture in this time is to see, that it's a picture - in a good way ;)

Annoyed and stressed but productive and alive

Hey out there!

It's been a while since my last post, but I'm still alive and drawing - even if some things are stressing the shit out of me.
Once, none of the scanners in this works at the moment, and I have no idea why not. Last time I just plugged the one in and could work with it, now I de-and reinstalled it a few times and it still won't work , and the other one dosen't work for no reason too.
Second, I just buyed a PC. A great one. It's strong, it's shiny, it's incredible fast, and it obviously had a broken graphic board. -___-
And third, next week I've got my second portfolio presentation/qualifying examination and I still have to work on that...

But well. Enough bitching now. What would be a blogpost without pictures?

This is a teaser pic from a comic project I'm currently working on (and which is part of my portfolio, too). It's raw, cause I don't have the hardware at the moment, but there will be more the next time :)

Besides, cause of the examination, portfolio and yadda yadda stress stuff there won't be daily posts next time. But I'm looking forward to post minimum once a week, so you might have at least some new stuff to watch at :)

Hi out there!

So I'm back from Nuremberg and I just realized that I didn't take any photos... but well, shit happens. And it was cool to see the portfolios from the students there 8D First class inspiration ;D

And because I'm still not ready with that polaroid pictures, I'll show you how my pictures look like before I do the fine pencil drawing that will be inked and colored in the end:

I flexed this one because it was bigger than my usual drawings and I was too lazy to take an extra bag for this one. It's just a scribble, damnit! ;D

Something about manga issues and more unfinished digital stuff

Hi out there! 8D

I feel a little dizzy, cause I didn't slept that well (there was a thunderstorm with everything, and I woke up a several times, and continued to build the sounds from outside into my dreams. That led me to a dream where mini-tornadoes destroyed the car of my sister (which was more funny than frightening, and at some point I realized that my sister doesen't even own a car....) ...well.)

It's the digital painting again, I worked on it a little bit, and here's another snapshot of the current state of work.
Are all digital drawers that slowly? I guess not, but I think I'll have to learn more in this section ^^;

 Something is still not right with that. I just can't figure out what...

An Unfinished Digital Painting

Hi out there!

At the moment I'm working on a new painting in photoshop, and it's a character from the (maybe someday comic... bla) story again ;) Buuuut this time it's not just for the lulz! It's free from my mind and I've got no drawing pattern at all... so if you find mistakes in anatomy or light/shadow, or have any other tips and tricks, feel free to tell me, I'm still a beginner in the digital section. Even if its only an unsure guess! :D

 More progress maybe tomorrow ;)
